Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo East and Ondo West local government areas in Ondo State on Monday endorsed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the April governorship primary of the party.

Leaders of APC in Ondo Kingdom under the leadership of Hon. Abiola Makinde, member representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency, converged at the Civic Centre, Ondo, to declare their unalloyed support for the Governor.

Other leaders of the party at the event included Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, Hon. Bola Ilori, Mr. Wale Akinlosotu, Iyaloja of Ondo Kingdom, Chief Mrs Akinniyi Bukola; Dr. Anthony Eniola; representative of Baales in Ondo Kingdom; representative of Christians in Politics; representative of Muslim community, among others.

Speaking, one after the other, they all noted that the person who the Sons and Daughters of Ondo Kingdom would vote for in the forthcoming gubernatorial election is Governor Aiyedatiwa.

They commended the interest the Governor has shown in the development of Ondo, including the approval of N1 billion for the rehabilitation of UNIMED Teaching Hospital and allocation of over N4 billion for the construction of bypass road in Ondo, among others.

Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked the leaders of the party in Ondo Kingdom for coming together to endorse and support him ahead of the gubernatorial election.

He said: “I want to thank you all for what you did today that I am the one that you want to continue to be your Governor beyond 2025, I want you to know that I am not taking this for granted and you will not be disappointed.

“Today, the State is very peaceful, the people are happy even when we have some hardship in the country; it is not peculiar to our state, it is all over the nation because of the resetting that President Bola Tinubu has embarked upon.

“And I want to tell you that this current hardship we are facing right now is just a matter of time because very soon all the programmes and policies that are being put in place both at the Federal and State levels would begin to yield results.

“In our State, we are already looking at the direction of helping our farmers in various ways, first to ensure that are protected from marauders and that is why the security architecture of this State is being given strong priority.

“Our rural roads to our farm settlements are also getting attention so that our farmers can get to the farms and also transport their farm produce to the urban centres.

“Our primary and secondary schools; we have just approved the recruitment of teachers and soon the advertisement would be out, those trained teachers should apply.

“We are not owing Civil Servants in the State and we are also giving them wage award N35,000 every month aside their salaries.

“So, this government is doing a lot to support our people and as we progress more of these programmes and policies would be rolled out for better living conditions for our people.”
