For the sake of transparency and accountability, a servant leader at all times must be responsible for public education as well as enlightenment.
It is in the light of this we will like to clarify and enlighten the good people of Ondo North Senatorial District regarding the misunderstanding and misinformation surrounding the One Hundred Million Naira (100,000,000 )Skill Acquisition Center in Owo in the 2023 Budget.
We would like to provide the following clarifications:
- The project in question was not initiated during the Senator Olajide Ipinsagba’s administration. It was a 2023 project that predated his tenure.
- Senator Olajide Ipinsagba did not inherit the project, and therefore, did not execute nor have anything,whatsoever, to do with it.
- However, it is important to note that none of the projects he inherited has not been awarded and executed
- As for the Youth Center, an initiative of Distinguished Senator Ipinsagba, delegates from the Ministry of Youths Development did visit Owo and Ikare for inspections and survey of proposed sites.
As at today there is no tangible update
He is in constant touch with the Ministry to monitor developments - On Insecurity, there is no gainsaying that security is everyone’s business. All hands have to be on deck to tackle the insecurity menace rocking the district. There is a concerted effort of the Governor who is the Chief Security Officer of the State, the Deputy Governor, the Honourable Members in the State Assembly and House of Representatives and Senator Jide Ipinsagba to address this ugly monster. The efforts in no time will yield the necessary fruits.
- It is on this note we want to appeal to our youth to apply the mantra of seeing something, saying something. And also avoid any form of unrest be it protest or rally which we fear may snowball into something else or be hijacked by hoodlums
- We believe it is essential to support and cooperate with our leaders , most especially His Excellency,Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as they work tirelessly towards the betterment of the State and improve the lives and security of the people
On the Civic Centers:
- We are pleased to report that Construction of Civic Centers in Owo and Arigidi is already in the current budget, and we expect the execution to commence soon.
Let’s quickly address the incorrectness of ₦80,000,000 Land acquisition fee in Ọ́wọ́. This is clearly a case of misrepresentation of facts. The misrepresentation which turned out to be a wrong indictment on the good people of Ọ́wọ́ is highly regretted. I apologise for the error and clarify that it was meant for a proposed budget on another laudable project coming up soon and not what was earlier published. Ọ́wọ́ people are known for their high level of integrity and accommodating spirit and on no account will such thing occur under the Leadership of our Father and the paramount ruler of Ọ́wọ́ Kingdom.
We hope that these clarifications and enlightenment will help the good people of Ondo North Senatorial District to see things the way they are. We look forward to continued peace and harmony in Ondo North Senatorial District and Ondo State in general.
