Ondo: Police arrest three over death of driver

The Police Command in Ondo State has arrested three private security guards for allegedly killing a driver, Adewale Olowolafe, in Akure.

The suspects were said to have hit the driver with an iron rod during a fight leading to his death.

An eyewitness said that the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.

“The deceased is from Ijare. He is a driver and was killed by some private security guards along Ijare road.

“The boy was hacked to death by the guards for no justifiable reason,” the eyewitness said.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID) for further investigation.

“Three persons have been arrested, and the matter has been transferred to the SCID for further investigation,” she said.
