The Ondo State Rainbow Coalition (OSRC), comprising of multiple registered political parties – under the leadership of Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, felicitates with all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
This was contianed in a statement by the Chairman of the Coalition, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, on Thursday to mark the Independence celebration.
The statement read: “As we mark this historic day, we reflect on 66 years of nationhood, resilience, and collective hope. From 1960 to 2026, Nigeria has weathered storms and celebrated triumphs. Our unity in diversity remains our greatest strength.
“The Rainbow Coalition, after a careful appraisal of the state of the nation, believes that the bold and difficult economic reforms initiated by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, require time to fully mature and yield sustainable benefits for all Nigerians.
“Nation-building is not a sprint but a marathon. The President’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the areas of: Fuel subsidy removal and forex unification, massive infrastructural renewal across the federation, student Loan Scheme and credit reforms, and local government autonomy and security architecture reforms are laying a new foundation that must not be truncated.
“We therefore, as a Coalition of progressive-minded parties in Ondo State, join millions of well-meaning Nigerians to advocate for continuity, stability and consolidation of these reforms through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s continuation in office till 2031.
“It is our considered view that a second term will allow Mr. President to: complete the economic transition from consumption to production, deepen the gains of the reforms for the common man, ensure policy consistency that investors and development partners trust.
“On this Independence Day, we call on all Ondo State citizens and indeed all Nigerians to pray for Nigeria and support the government, shun divisive rhetoric and embrace Unity, Courage and Progress – the motto of our Coalition, give Mr. President the time and support to complete his 8-year vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
“Nigeria is 66. The labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain. We are confident that with continuity till 2031, Nigeria will emerge stronger, more united and economically virile.”
