The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered two cut-to-size guns.
The suspects were arrested at different locations in the state during routine stop-and-search operations.
The suspects were identified as Bamidele Oliver, 32 and Levis Prince, 35.
The command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, said the arrest was made possible by operatives of the ‘B’ Division Surveillance Patrol Team and Okuta Elerinla Division.
According to him, the development has further reinforced the commitment of the command to intelligence and proactive policing as well as the protection of lives and property.
The command’s spokesperson said investigation has been intensified on how the arms were procured and the intended operations.
While attributing the arrest of the suspects to the resolve of the command to rid the state of armed robbers and other criminal elements, Jimoh stated that efforts were ongoing to apprehend a fleeing suspect, who took to his heels during the operation.
