The Police Command in Ondo State says it has launched investigations into a chilling murder after the severely mutilated body of an unidentified woman was discovered dumped along Barracks Road, near the GRA Roundabout in Ondo town, Ondo State.
The discovery was made on Monday morning, July 13, 2026, following the report received by the command regarding the presence of a lifeless body at the location.
The command in a statement on Tuesday by its spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said upon the receipt of the report, police operatives were immediately deployed to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the officers discovered the headless body of a female victim. Preliminary observations revealed that several parts of the body had been mutilated.
“Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, identity of the deceased, apprehend those responsible and establish the motive behind the gruesome act.
“The Ondo State Police Command condemns this barbaric act and assures the public that no effort will be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
“Members of the public who may have useful information that could assist the investigation are urged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Command through its emergency lines.
“The area remains calm and adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of residents while investigations continue,” the command stated.
