A Nigerian Juju and highlife singer, Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, popularly known as St. Janet is dead.
She died on Saturday July 1, 2026 after a brief illness.
St. Janet’s death was announced on Sunday morning by Femi Davies, a Nigerian publisher and socialist in a Facebook post.
“St. Janet (Iyun Janet Ajilore), a popular Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician known for her vibrant live performances, energetic stage presence and socially unfiltered party tracks, is dead.
“She died after a brief illness on Saturday,” he wrote.
St. Janet contributions to the Juju and Highlife genres also cemented her place as one of the notable entertainers associated with the vibrant Nigerian live music culture.
Funeral arrangements had not been announced as of the time of filing this report.
