The body of retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State under auspices of Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, has expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his recent approval of pension harmonisation for its members.
This is contained in a statement issued by Sina Adeyeye, Director Information, Office of the HoS on Friday.
A delegation of the association, led by its state chairman, Mrs Moji Ajayi at a visit to the Head of Service on Friday, delivered an appreciation letter addressed to Governor Aiyedatiwa, lauding him for the gesture.
The delegation also used the occasion to thank the governor for his recent appointment of their members, Dr Mann Ali and Mr Mike Oshodi as Chairman and member of the State Civil Service Commission respectively, pledging their continued support and contribution for the success of his administration.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs Ajayi said the development would positively impact the wellbeing of members some of whose monthly pensions could not afford meaningful living before the approval.
She thanked the Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya for his role in the realisation of the long fought agitation, saying he never betrayed their confidence reposed in him.
Reacting, Chief Odusanya, who appreciated the visit, joined his voice to thank Governor Aiyedatiwa for the approval and other welfare packages for the workforce, both serving and retired.
The Head of Service used to occasion to express appreciation to the governor for regular and timely payment of salaries and other benefits of workers, adding that welfare of workers and the citizenry had remained at centre of the heart of his administration.
According to him, the substance of free school shuttle buses for students in the state by the present administration remained commendable as many parent couldn’t have been able to afford daily transportation for their children with present economic reality, expressing optimism that same gesture would soon be extended to workers by the governor.
In his words, “Governance is about people and their welfare. the governor wants to see people happy and that is what he has being demonstrating with all this approvals.”
“The man has done so much. We got fifty six (56) permanent Secretaries at a go recently. We still want to do more on welfare of workers, on Car Loan and Housing Loan. So let’s continue to pray for Mr Governor and his administration so that we can continue to enjoy more dividends.” He further said.
Other retired Permanent Secretaries who accompanied the Chairman include Dr Deji Akinwolere, Chief Bode Adebiyi, Mrs Julie Fayehun, Mr. Idowu Orimoloye and Mr Layiwola Ibukun.
