Tragedy as beer-laden truck falls on car, kills three in Ondo

Three persons have been confirmed dead while one other sustained injuries when a beer-laden truck fell on a car along the Ondo-Ore highway on Tuesday evening.

The truck, which belongs to the Nigerian Brewery, was said to have lost control at the Liyetu axis of Ondo town in the Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

The vehicle on which the truck fell, a Golf 111 car with the number plate BUR 852 TS, was conveying passengers along the road when the accident occurred.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the accident, said the deceased were deposited at the General Hospital Morgue while the injured passenger was taken to Trauma Centre in Ondo town.

Odunlami-Omisanya said Police Motor Traffic Division of Enu-owa have moved in to clear vehicular traffic on the road.
