A female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was crushed to death in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday when an articulated truck rammed into multiple vehicles and a motorcycle.
The incident occurred at the Agodi Gardens area of Ibadan.
Eyewitnesses said the truck allegedly struck a motorcycle carrying the corps member after earlier crashing into multiple vehicles around the Sango area.
The driver was allegedly attempting to flee after the earlier crashes when the incident occurred around Agodi Gardens.
The accident disrupted traffic in the area, prompting the diversion of motorists as emergency responders moved to the scene.
Confirming the incident, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo Sector Commander, Kehinde Dahunsi, said the crash involved a motorcycle and an articulated truck.
Dahunsi disclosed that a female corps member lost her life in the accident while the Okada rider sustained a fracture in his leg.
He added that the body of the corps member had been deposited at the State Hospital morgue, while the motorcyclist was taken to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for medical attention.
