Two Kwara pilgrims die in Saudi Arabia

Two pilgrims from Kwara State on this year’s pilgrimage have been confirmed dead in Saudi Arabia.

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board on Sunday announced the deaths of the two pilgrims who passed away in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

A statement by the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, said: “Saliu Mohammed, who arrived with Batch 3 of the state contingent, died in an intensive care unit of a public hospital in Madina after a brief illness, while Hajia Hawawu Mohammed (Batch 9) also died following what Saudi authorities have investigated and found to be an unfortunate suicidal episode from the rooftop of her apartment in Madina.”

The pilgrims’ board said it “deeply regrets the sad events, but submits totally to the decree and ultimate knowledge of Allah in all affairs.”
