Laolu Akande, a former aide to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that certain powerful individuals within President Bola Tinubu’s camp are actively blocking former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, from the current government.
He said this was because Fasola is a highly principled leader who does not tolerate administrative misconduct or compromise.
Akade, while speaking during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, said some people in Tinubu’s camp are blocking Fashola because he will not allow certain things to happen in the government.
He said that there are two reasons Fashola is not in Tinubu’s government.
According to him, Fashola himself may be tired, but more importantly, some people close to the President do not want him around.
“I think the reason Fashola is not in this government, two reasons. I think Fashola himself has a bit of fatigue, more importantly, I think there are people around the president who don’t want to see Fashola because Fashola is not going to tolerate many of those things that you are seeing around,” he said.
He added that Fashola is a principled man who does not compromise, noting that the former Lagos State governor does not take nonsense and those who want to do nonsense in government don’t want him.
“Whatever you say about Fashola, he doesn’t take nonsense and the people who wanted to get some nonsense going, they didn’t want Fashola,” he added.
