Dr Mutiu Agboke, the new Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC) in Ondo State, has assumed duty.
Thefrontrank reports that Agboke assumed office on Monday, April 20, at the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) head office in Akure.
A statement by INEC Ondo State Administrative Secretary, Tadese Adenike, said that Agboke’s taking over would mark a fresh phase in INEC’s electoral administration in the state.
In a statement highlighted Agboke’s extensive background in election management and legal practice, describing him as a seasoned professional with proven experience.
The statement read: “Agboke, who hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006 and previously served with the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission between 2012 and 2016.
“He has also held similar positions in Ondo, Oyo and Osun states, where he oversaw the conduct of the 2019 and 2023 general elections.”
The statement stated that his track record of “integrity, transparency and professionalism” would enhance public trust and ensure the delivery of credible, free and fair elections in Ondo State.
