The All Progressives Congress (APC) has barred the National Assembly Primary Election Committees from declaring results within their respective states of assignment.
This is contained in a letter signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, addressed to all the Chairmen of National Assembly Primary Election Committees.
The letter read: “Please be informed that established procedures exist for the collation and annoucement of results arising from the National Assebly Primary Elections.
“These procedures are outlined as follows: Wards collation, Local Government Area collation, designated constituency collation centre, and submission of results and reports to the national headquarters.
“Accordingly, no committee is permitted to conduct media briefings within their respective states of assignment.
“Any official briefing, where neccessary shall be conducted exclusively in Abuja after submission of all results.”
Thefrontrank reports that several teams that coordinated the House of Representatives primary on Saturday announced its results.
