APC’s Ehindero wins Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West bye-election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Ifeoluwa Ehindero, has been declared winner of the Saturday’s bye-election in Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency of Ondo State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) returning officer, Prof. Johnson Fasinmirin, announced Ehindero as the winner of the election after the collation of results at Victory College, Ikare-Akoko.

Fasinmirin of the Federal University of Technology, Akure(FUTA), said the APC candidate polled 35,504 votes to defeat Mr Bada Olalekan of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) which had 15,328 votes.

According to him, total valid votes is 51,341, and total rejected votes is 555 while total votes cast is 51,896.

Ehindero will replace Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who was appointed as Minister by President Bola Tinubu.
