The Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Dr Yahya Saidu, has died.
He died in the early hours of Friday, October 9.
Saidu was sworn in as the chairman of the local government on July 15, 2026.
He becomes the second Fufore council chairman to die in office in less than two years, following the death of Alhaji Shuaibu Babas on April 23, 2025.
Saidu’s death has come as a shock to the people of Fufore, who regarded him as a philanthropist and grassroots mobiliser with development promises he had barely three months to pursue.
Reacting to his death, the member representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Aliyu Boya Wakili, described Saidu as a dedicated public servant whose contributions would be missed.
Burial arrangements were yet to be announced by the family.
