Guber primary: Former Ondo Commissioner Otetubi declares support for Jimoh Ibrahim
Hon. Idowu Otetubi, FCA, a former Commissioner for Natural Resources in Ondo State, has thrown his weight behind the governorship ambition of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, ahead of the All Progressives Congress(APC) April 20 primary.
Ibrahim is representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the national assembly.
Otetubi, MBA, FCA, an accomplished chartered accountant with over 34 years of practice, an indigene of Akure, served as Commissioner under the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
As a party chieftain and founding member of the party, whose history can be traced from the Action Congress of Nigeria to the APC, Otetubi ranks high among the few who never held back their resources in ensuring the adequate mobilization for success of APC in Ondo State.
Endorsing Ibrahim at the weekend in Akure, the former Commissioner said although there were other good governorship aspirants on the platform of the APC in the state, he remains optimistic that the senator would emerge victorious.
”I have moved round, and scrutinised the profiles of all guber hopefuls in the State to know how committed they were to the people, and their love for the people of Ondo State. I went to the streets to ask questions, and at the end, I decided to throw my weight behind Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
“The Distinguished Senator is savvy, and has street credibility. He is someone who’s not only sharp and strategic, but also educated, relatable and in touch with the pulse of the people. It’s this mix of qualities that can make for a truly successful politician.
“Indeed, the political arena is a tricky one to navigate, and being savvy and having street credibility can only get you so far.
“Senator Ibrahim has a clear, compelling vision and idea of where he wants to take the state, and how to make it work.
“The good thing is that the APC has said the direct mode of primary would be adopted.
“Members of the party will surely come out in their thousands to choose Senator Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of the party”, Otetubi said.
