Power outage as national grid collapses again

The national electricity grid collapsed again on Monday, plunging some parts of the country into darkness.

Thefrontrank reports that this is the fifth the grid will collapse in 2024.

An official of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, who confirmed the incident said it was a partial collapse.

The TCN official, who pleaded anonymity, however, said that the power was being restored gradually.

It learnt that the that total generation on the grid dropped to zero as of 1:33 pm on Monday.
