Adeleke assures NSCDC of support in fighting crimes
Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assured the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of the state government’s support in fighting crimes to the barest minimum.
A statement by the NSCDC Public Relation Officer in the state, Kehinde Adeleke, said Adeleke gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo by Dr Akintayo Adaralewa, the new NSCDC commandant in the state.
Adeleke said that his administration would continue to provide every necessary support to the command so as to improve on the security of lives and property in the state.
While expressing confidence in the ability of the new Commandant and the Corps at large, the governor enjoined the new NSCDC boss to work in synergy with other sister agencies, saying crime prevention is a joint effort of all security agencies.
Adeleke, who commended the personnel of NSCDC for always well dressed, also hailed them for their sense of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier in his remarks, Adaralewa explained that the courtesy visit was to familiarise himself with the governor and to sought for the support of the government in the task ahead.
According to him, Osun state is relatively peaceful, as it is one of the safest states in the country.
Adaralewa promised to synergise with other security agencies to strengthen security architecture and place it in a better light.
He also promised to deal decisively with illegal miners, while promising to work assiduously in order to put an end to incessant farmers and herders’ crisis in the state.
Adaralewa called on members of the public to support NSCDC in the fight against criminal activities by providing necessary and useful information that could nip crimes in the bud.
