JUST IN: Bobrisky to spend six months in Ikoyi prison over Naira abuse

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday sentenced the controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky to six months in prison without option of fine.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro in her sentence said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.

Bobrisky is to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

Justice Awogboro had on April 5, reserved the date for Bobrisky judgment after he pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of Naira abuse preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The judge had ordered that the convict be remanded in EFCC custody pending sentence.
