Ondo petrol dealer machetes wife to death, kills self

A petrol station owner in Akure, Ondo State capital, Mr Sesan Adelabu, has reportedly killed his wife in grievous machete attack.

The incident happened on Friday night in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the Ondo state capital.

Adelabu was said to have killed his wife while she was in bed and subsequently drank an insecticide suspected to be Sniper, committing suicide.

It was gathered that Adelabu was the owner of the popular Emirate gas and petrol station located in Akure.

A source closed to the couple who confirmed the incident said there had been no love lost between the couple in recent times.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, Police spokesperson in Ondo State, could not be reached immediately for comment.

But, a senior police officer said operatives from the state command have visited the scene and an investigation has begun.

Thefrontrank learnt that the corpses of the couple had been deposited in the hospital morgue by the police.
