The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) led by Taminu Turaki has named former President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
The Turaki faction took the decision at a special national convention held at the its secretariat in Area 10, Garki, Abuja on Saturday.
Jonathan was not present at the event where his nomination was formally ratified, but the Certificate of Return was received on his behalf by Bayelsa lawmaker, Fred Agbedi.
The development was announced during the gathering attended by delegates and party stakeholders aligned with the Turaki-led group.
Jonathan is yet to officially comment on his election as the presidential candidate of the Turaki-led PDP faction.
