The Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Sulaiman Aledeh, has resigned from his position.
Aledeh announced his resignation in a letter dated May 30, 2026, addressed to Governor Monday Okpebholo.
He stated that the decision was taken to enable him devote his full attention to the next phase of his professional career and pursue other interests as a private citizen.
In the letter, Aledeh said his resignation takes immediate effect from May 30, 2026, ending his stewardship of the Edo Broadcasting Service, one of the state’s foremost public media institutions.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Okpebholo for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organisation, describing the opportunity to serve the people of Edo State as a privilege and honour.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to Your Excellency for the confidence reposed in me and for the privilege of serving the people of Edo State in this capacity,” he wrote.
Aledeh said he was proud to have contributed to the repositioning of the broadcasting corporation amid what he described as an increasingly dynamic and competitive media landscape.
He also thanked Edo residents at home and in the diaspora for their support and engagement throughout his tenure.
He paid tribute to the management and staff of EBS, commending their professionalism, resilience and commitment to excellence.
